What is functional medicine?
Functional medicine is a holistic, patient-centered, and individualized approach to medicine. Functional medicine combines the best of conventional medicine with evidence-based functional and integrative therapies. We are dedicated to finding the root causes and answers for patients, as well as giving them the tools to optimize their own long-term health.
What do I need to do before my first appointment?

Where are you located and what are your hours?
Our hours are Monday – Thursday, 9AM-5PM. We’re located at 317 North El Camino Real, Suite 407 in Encinitas, CA. We also offer telemedicine appointments to patients in the state of California, Florida, New Hampshire, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Oregon and Washington.
Where are you licensed?
Functional Medicine Specialists is licensed to provide care in California, Florida, New Hampshire, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Oregon and Washington.
Do you accept insurance?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept insurance for our services. However, many of the lab tests we suggest are often covered by insurance. We accept cash, checks, debit + credit cards, Venmo, and Zelle.
What are your rates?
- $135: 15 min + 10 min for charting/review/plan ( total 25 min)
- $245: 30 min + 10-15 for charting/review/plan ( total 45 minutes)
- $315: 45 min + 10-15 for charting/review/plan ( total 60 minutes)
- $395: 60 min + 10-15 for charting/review/plan ( total 75 minutes)
Brief call 10 minutes or less $75-$90 depending on complexity.
